About The Speakers:
F. William McNabb III is chairman and chief executive officer of Vanguard. Mr. McNabb joined Vanguard in 1986, became chief executive officer in 2008, and chairman of the board of directors and the board of trustees in 2010. Previously, he led each of Vanguard’s client-facing business divisions.
Mr. McNabb is active in the investment management industry and serves as the chairman of the Investment Company Institute. He also serves as chairman of the Zoological Society of Philadelphia and on the board of the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, the Wharton Leadership Advisory Board, and the Dartmouth Athletic Advisory Board.
Mr. McNabb earned an A.B. at Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Vanguard Chief Executive Officer
Mortimer J. “Tim” Buckley, Vanguard chief investment officer, is responsible for the oversight of approximately $2 trillion managed by Vanguard Fixed Income and Equity Investment Groups. The funds managed by these two investment groups include active and index stock funds, bond funds, money market funds, and stable value funds.
Mr. Buckley joined Vanguard in 1991 as assistant to the chairman, and has held a number of senior leadership positions over his 20-year tenure, including head of the Retail Investor Group from 2006 to 2012 and Vanguard’s chief information officer from 2001 to 2006. He is currently the chairman of the board of The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Mr. Buckley earned an A.B. in economics and an M.B.A. from Harvard.
Vanguard Chief Investment Officer
Rebecca Katz is a principal who leads Vanguard Corporate Marketing and Communications and also serves as a company spokesperson. She joined Vanguard in 1996 and previously served as an analyst in the Vanguard Portfolio Review Department, which oversees the institutional money managers responsible for Vanguard funds, and then spent more than a decade in Vanguard Public Relations.
Ms. Katz earned a B.A. from Bryn Mawr College and a Master’s degree in journalism from Temple University.
She’s a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the International Association of Business Communicators.
